Songs for Strays

Philadelphia, PA- This Saturday, Feb. 6, The Blockley Pourhouse in Philadelphia will hold a benefit concert for the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). All proceeds will be donated in support of the opening of the PAWS Spay/Neuter and Wellness Center, which is due to open early this year.

Several bands will be playing at the event, including Goodnight Lights, Practically Single and The Canon Logic. Tickets are $10 at the door, or you can buy online.

The event is 21+, and will be hosted by Wendy Rollins from Radio 104.5.

The "G" word gets closer

Collegeville, PA - The class of 2010 is celebrating "100 Nights to Graduation" tonight at the Trappe. This means there are only 100 days left for seniors to find not only a job, but also some health benefits. Scary thought.

To keep minds positive and excited though, the seniors are offered an open bar from 9-10 pm at the Trappe Tavern, and UC student-only drink specials after that hour.

Students are encouraged to make a pledge (of at least $20.10), which isn't due until the end of the next fiscal year. As incentive, all students who have already pledged or make their pledge at the bar will receive a 2010 commemorative mug.

So come out, pledge, and celebrate while you still can... in a few months time, you might have a full-time job: no more Thirsty Thursdays and four day weekends for me.
